Polyjuice Potion Anyone?

We've been reading the Harry Potter books out loud to the boys, so naturally they all wanted to be Harry Potter for Halloween.

Summer 2015 Part 2

We celebrated eight years of marriage with a trip to Seattle.  The boys stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Wall.
A few weeks later, the boys and I went back to Provo where I met up with some of my freshman year roommates.
We also went to the zoo, chased bunnies at the cemetery, shopped at IKEA, went to Mikey's baptism, and had a fun time in Provo.

The city finally built this awesome playground at the park by our house...
...but when we took the boys there for the first time, they only played on the playground for about five minutes before returning to their old favorite (and their parents' least favorite) the sand volleyball pit.
We also took the boys hiking a few times.
Our lush wilderness. It makes me thirsty just looking at it.

Summer 2015 Part 1

I made a "bounce house" by setting up our tent and putting two queen-sized air mattresses inside.  They just so happened to fit perfectly.  The boys loved it!
We did two sessions of swimming lessons.
Ambrose had this little girl wrapped around his finger.
I took Gideon and Silas to see "When You Wish" at Tuacahn.
Their friends Ethan and Scott also went.
We got a kitten which drove me crazy.  It only lasted a few days before I put it back on Craigslist.
We have now had fish, lizards, dogs, bunnies, and kittens.  I'm running out of pets to try.

Spring 2015

I'm trying to catch up on this blog.  A lot has happened this year that I haven't put on here.

The boys and I went to Idaho for spring break via Provo.
Tatiana and her kiddos came for a visit.
We went on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Los Angeles one weekend.
We got three cute bunnies.  Unfortunately, these "rascally rabbits" were escape artists and would hide out under our neighbor's deck.  We got rid of them.
Peter had surgery on his ACL and PCL and couldn't drive or put any weight on that leg for six very long weeks.
Silas celebrated his fifth birthday in style.
Gideon and Silas played soccer.  I forgot to get a picture of Silas. Oops.
And finally, the boys gave me the best Mother's Day ever.  I woke up and realized that I was hearing noises from downstairs.  When I went downstairs, I found the boys busy making me breakfast.  Silas sliced the bread in the picture with a butter knife and Gideon scrambled the eggs.  It was the cutest thing ever.
And apparently Ambrose was lobbying for cake instead.

Gideon's first day of second grade was August 13th.
Silas' first day of kindergarten was August 20th.
School t-shirts came this week.

We were drinking hot chocolate with our breakfast this morning when Ambrose said, "There's hot cocoa in my stomach." (slight pause) "It's gone forever."

Ambrose's Prayer

Ambrose's prayer tonight was, "Thank you for daddy.  Thank you for cornstarch.  Thank you for blue."  As unexpected as cornstarch was, it wasn't actually random.  Earlier in the day we had made play dough out of cornstarch and lotion.  I dyed some of it blue, so I think that's where the blue came from, too.

Father's Day

When I asked the boys what they wanted to get Peter for Father's Day, Silas and Gideon immediately said "Jelly beans and soda!"  Ambrose thought for a second and then said "Pumpkin pie."  Even Ambrose knows what his Dad likes!

Here's Silas' picture of Peter.

Ambrose's Menu Plan

This morning I asked Ambrose, "What should we have for breakfast?"  He thought for only a second before replying, "candy party."  Although this is a new request, it is hardly surprising because whenever I ask him, "What should we have for dinner?" he always tells me "brownies."
